Kyna England, originally from Chicago, Illinois now calls Las Vegas home. She is the first and only female player to be crowned MSPT Player of the year in 2021.
 

Kyna graduated from University of Colorado Boulder with a degree in Mathematics and also has an MBA from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. It was during college she learned to play poker.
 

During a work conference in Las Vegas, she started playing again and there she remembered how much she loved the game. She played few years as a recreational player and only started to take it seriously when she was out of work due to the pandemic.

She was determined to step up her game, so she spent a lot of time studying and practicing online in small tournaments.
 

Kyna had an amazing breakout year in 2021. She finished third in MSPT Iowa for $73K, third in the Venetian Main Event for $450K, followed by a victory in the MSPT Cantebury Park Main Event for over $180K, this secured her title as 'MSPT Season 12 Player of the Year'
